Misleading

With the Philippines’ raucous presidential election campaign season in full swing in February, a video was viewed tens of thousands of times on social media alongside a claim opposition hopeful Vice President Leni Robredo rejected a selfie request from a supporter during a rally. However, the clip has been misleadingly edited. The video was taken from longer footage that in fact shows Robredo reached out to snap a selfie with the supporter after the latter was told by security staff to get off Robredo’s campaign vehicle.
