FALSE

The Facts: An article posted on the Journal News Online web page claims that the founder of the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP), Jose Maria “Joma” Sison, admitted to advising Vice President Leni Robredo and her spokesperson Barry Gutierrez. The news allegedly came from Ang Bayan, the official publication of the CPP which was published on Monday. (https://journalnews.com.ph/joma-admits-advising-leni/)

According to similar articles by Inquirer.net, Vice President Robredo already stated that she has never been in contact with Joma Sison who is self-exiled in the Netherlands. “There is no truth to the claims that Jose Maria Sison is my personal or campaign adviser. I have never talked to him in any capacity.” (https://newsinfo.inquirer.net/…/robredo-debunks-ties…)

In an interview with PhilStar Global, Joma Sison said “I have not been advising Leni Robredo, although I think that she is a far more qualified candidate for president.”

In the same article CPP Chief Information officer Marco Valbueno debunks this information by saying that they never published such news in “Ang Bayan” and it is fake news. (https://www.philstar.com/…/sison-no-talks-all-robredo…)
