A photo of first lady Liza Araneta-Marcos with two women, who were falsely identified by supporters of former president Rodrigo Duterte as the judges of the International Criminal Court who signed his arrest warrant, has gained traction on social media.
The supporters of Duterte who shared the photo argued in their posts that the former president’s arrest was premeditated, as the first lady had supposedly established a close relationship with the judges prior to the arrest.
The first woman in the photo, who was mistakenly identified as Judge Iulia Motoc, is actually Katrina Roman Quintas, the owner of Quintas-Mayenberger Inc.
The photo used in the manipulated post was uploaded to Quintas’ Threads account.
Katrina Ponce Enrile, the daughter of Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Juan Ponce Enrile, was wrongly identified as Judge Socorro Flores Liera.
