CLAIM:  Senators have resigned after the arrest of former president Rodrigo Duterte.

A TikTok video falsely claimed that some senators have resigned to protest the arrest of former president Rodrigo Duterte.

The video included a text that read “anu na mangyayari sa pilipinas halos lahat ng mga official nag resigned [sic] salute.” (What will happen to the Philippines if almost all officials resign? Salute!)

The video contained stitched clips from the statements of Senators Juan Miguel “Migz” Zubiri, Joel Villanueva, Abby Binay, Sonny Angara, and JV Ejercito.

However, based on the official YouTube channel of the Senate of the Philippines, the clips were not recent and were compiled from Senate Session No. 75 held on May 20, 2024.
