Social media posts criticizing Philippine Vice President Leni Robredo feature a video alongside a claim it shows the top job hopeful fudged her answer in a television interview about allegations she cheated to defeat rival Ferdinand Marcos Jr in the 2016 elections. The posts circulated online in the lead-up to the May presidential elections where Robredo trails the son and namesake of the country’s former dictator. But the video shared in the posts — which gained tens of thousands of views — had been misleadingly edited. The Philippine Supreme Court in 2021 dismissed Marcos Jr’s poll fraud case against Robredo for “lack of merit”.
