A TikTok user falsely claimed that Vice President Sara Duterte was in the United States after supposedly being invited by Donald Trump to attend his inauguration.

In a now-deleted post, the TikTok user shared a photo of Duterte with US Ambassador to the Philippines Mary Kay L. Carlson, falsely suggesting that it was taken in the US.

The photo was originally taken at the US Embassy in the Philippines, where Duterte paid a courtesy call to express her condolences over the passing of the late former US president James Earl “Jimmy” Carter Jr.
